term 3

2023 – Newsletter Term 3!

We carry out Won Life’s VISION of Improving education to promote community upliftment in Fisantekraal through our 4 programmes. We had a very busy 3rd term – here are some highlights to enjoy!

Pre-Primary School

This year we took a calculated leap and changed our Language of Learning and Teaching (LoLT) to English and we have been blown away by the astonishing progress that our Grade R’s have made. Our Grade Rs are almost ready for Grade 1. Thank you to Casey and Confidence from The Learning Initiative for everything you do to support our learners.

We encourage parent involvement and we had 96 parents coming to our one-on-one parent teacher meetings this term. Learners are proud of their work and loved showing it off to their parents!

Won Life also believes that partnering with organisations in the community is a recipe for success. Thank you to Fisantekraal Animal Welfare (FAW) for coming to visit our Grade R’s. Keep up the great work

End of year concert practice is well underway. Oh, my goodness, we cannot wait, the concert is going to be next level cuteness overload.

Heritage Day dress-up is always a colourful day at our school!

Literacy Centre

Our Literacy Centre’s daily routine includes an awesome Brain Gym session led by our incredible volunteers! Brain Gym techniques really help to regulate learners when coming from class to the centre. We have seen how these exercises enhance focus during sessions. Thank you to all of our volunteers for always being so willing to try new things with us.

Assessments were conducted this term. Results are looking positive so far! We are looking forward to seeing the final results.
